An Fio Calculus for Marine Seismic Imaging, Ii: Sobolev Estimates

چکیده
We establish sharp L2-Sobolev estimates for classes of pseudodifferential operators with singular symbols [27, 20] whose non-pseudodifferential (Fourier integral operator) parts exhibit two-sided fold singularities. The operators considered include both singular integral operators along curves in R2 with simple inflection points and normal operators arising in linearized seismic imaging in the presence of fold caustics [30, 9, 10].

An Fio Calculus for Marine Seismic Imaging: Folds and Cross Caps
We are interested in a linearized inverse scattering problem considered by Symes and Nolan [10] for the marine data acquisition geometry. This arises as follows: a vessel carries an acoustic source (airgun) and recording instruments (hydrophones). The airgun sends acoustic waves through the ocean to the subsurface and the reflections occur when the sound waves encounter singularities in the mat...
متن کاملWeighted Sobolev L Estimates for a Class of Fourier Integral Operators
In this paper we develop elements of the global calculus of Fourier integral operators in Rn under minimal decay assumptions on phases and amplitudes. We also establish global weighted Sobolev L estimates for a class of Fourier integral operators that appears in the analysis of global smoothing problems for dispersive partial differential equations. As an application, we exhibit a new type of s...
متن کاملSobolev Space Estimates and Symbolic Calculus for Bilinear Pseudodifferential Operators
Bilinear operators are investigated in the context of Sobolev spaces and various techniques useful in the study of their boundedness properties are developed. In particular, several classes of symbols for bilinear operators beyond the so called CoifmanMeyer class are considered. Some of the Sobolev space estimates obtained apply to both the bilinear Hilbert transform and its singular multiplier...
متن کاملInversion of Marine Re ection Data in thePlane - Wave
Full waveform inversion of a p ? marine data set from the Gulf of Mexico provides estimates of the long-wavelength P-wave background velocity, anisotropic seismic source, and three high-frequency elastic parameter reeectivities which explain 70% of the total seismic data and 90% of the data in an interval around the gas sand target. The forward simulator is based on a plane-wave viscoelastic mo...
متن کاملSubsalt Marchenko imaging: A Gulf of Mexico example
Marchenko redatuming allows one to use surface seismic reflection data to generate the seismic response at any point in the subsurface due to sources at the surface. Without requiring much information about the earth’s properties, the seismic response generated by Marchenko redatuming contains accurate estimates of not only the primaries, but also internal multiples. A target-oriented imaging m...
